The salvation that comes through Christ may be described in three tenses: past, present, and future. When a person believes in Christ, he is saved (Acts 16:31). But we are also in the process of being saved from the power of sin (Rom 8:13; Phil 2:12). Finally, we shall be saved from the very presence of sin (Rom 13:11; Titus 2:12-13). God releases into our lives today the power of Christ’s resurrection (Rom 6:4) and allows us a foretaste of our future life as His children (2 Cor 1:22; Eph 1:14). Our experience of salvation will be complete when Christ returns (Heb 9:28) and the kingdom of God is fully revealed (Matt 13:41-43). NIBD

FCC’s view stresses the symbolic nature of baptism by emphasizing that baptism does not cause an inward change or alter a person’s relationship to God in any way. Baptism is a token, or an outward indication, of the inner change which has already occurred in the believer’s life. It serves as a public identification of the person with Jesus Christ, and thus also as a public testimony of the change that has occurred. It is an act of initiation. It is baptism into the name of Jesus.

According to the symbolic view, baptism is not so much an initiation into the Christian life as into the Christian church. A distinction is drawn between the invisible or universal church, which consists of all believers in Christ, and the visible or local church, a gathering of believers in a specific place.

This position explains that the church practices baptism and the believer submits to it because Jesus commanded that this be done and He gave us the example by being baptized Himself. Thus, baptism is an act of obedience, commitment, and proclamation.

According to this understanding of baptism, no spiritual benefit occurs because of baptism. Rather than producing REGENERATION of faith, baptism always comes after faith and the salvation that faith produces. The only spiritual value of baptism is that it establishes membership in the church and exposes the believer to the values of this type of fellowship. NIBD

One of the most sacred times during the worship service is the Invitation Period. This is a time where all believers unite in prayer for those who have not yet given their lives to Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. It’s also an invitation time for those desiring: 1) to become members of our church, 2) to rededicate their lives to Christ, or 3) to seek special prayer.

For the purpose of clarity, Family Community Church offers the Invitation in two distinct parts:


First, when the minister is speaking from the pulpit at the end of his sermon. This is a call solely to salvation; it is establishing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Romans 10:8-13; Ephesians 2:8-9

Second, when the minister comes down from the pulpit to the floor area, he offers the second part of the invitation which is for:


Those desiring to become members of our church.

The rededication of lives to Christ.

Anyone seeking special prayer.

These individuals may have just accepted Christ as their Savior, during the first part of the invitation, they may be visitors to our church that have a personal relationship with Christ or, they currently are members of our church seeking rededication and/or special prayer. Hebrews 10:19-25; 1 John 1:5-10; James 5:13-18

The distinction of the invitation into two parts is to prevent someone from falsely assuming that becoming a member of a church is the same thing as receiving personal salvation. Ample time is allotted for the distinction between the first part of the Invitation: “Salvation” and the second part of the Invitation: “Membership, Rededication and/or Prayer.” John 1:12-13; 1 Corinthians 14:40

Vision:Family Community Church’s vision is to be an equipping Christ-Centered church in North Fresno.

As we are led by the Holy Spirit of God, we will develop believers to spiritual maturity and equip them for their significant ministry of reaching the lost for Christ.

We desire to develop an 18.63-acre Christian campus, designed to minister to the spiritual, academic, emotional, physical and social needs of each person.

Mission: Family Community Church exists to lead the unsaved to Christ and, bring Christians to maturity by preaching and teaching the un-compromised Word of God. We boldly and with excellence present Jesus Christ and demonstrate God’s love to all people.

Further, we endeavor to equip every believer for ministry through dynamic training that is biblically based and relevant to life. The goal of this training is to develop disciples committed to building the church; and more importantly, to equip believers to take the gospel into their community and the world.

A body of beliefs about God, man, Christ, the church, and other related concepts considered authoritative and thus worthy of acceptance by all members of the community of faith.

Christ condemned the doctrine of the Pharisees because it was of human origin (Matt 15:9; Mark 7:7). By contrast, Jesus’ teaching was not systematic and repetitious. It was fresh and new (Matt 7:28; Mark 1:22,27; Luke 4:32).

After Pentecost, Christian doctrine began to be systematized (Acts 2:42). Doctrinal instruction was given by special teachers (1 Cor 12:28-29; Gal 6:6) to those who had responded to the gospel (Rom 6:17). The earliest doctrine of the Christian church declared: (1) that Jesus was the Messiah, the Christ (Acts 3:18); (2) that God had raised Him from the dead (Acts 1:22; 2:24,32); and (3) that salvation was by faith in His name (Acts 2:38,16). These three truths were presented as a clear fulfillment of the promises of the Old Testament. Paul taught that true doctrine is essential for Christian growth (Eph 4:11-16; 1 Tim 4:6; 6:3; Titus 1:9) and that false doctrine destroys the church (Eph 4:14; 2 Tim 4:3). NIBD

We are blessed at FCC to have a nursery staff that is committed to providing a safe and Christian environment for your precious loved ones. It is FCC’s standard policy that all nursery workers (Staff and Volunteers) be cleared through a thorough background check prior to serving in this ministry.

We should not be willing to dress up to approach important people of our day and fail to give God a greater honor. In the book of Malachi chapter 1, a conversation take place that exposes the culture and mind-set of that day. The people had become complacent and irreverent toward approaching God. God deserves our very best and we should approach Him in a manner that is commensurate with that reverence for Him.

We do have a nursery for our infants and toddlers, however, we are not at all opposed to parents keeping their children in service with them. So many families are so divided all week long, with all the various demands, that it is a sheer joy for the family to worship together and for young children to witness their parents worship God.

Any person may become a member of this Church by:

Confession of faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and baptism by immersion.

Letter from some other Christian Church of like faith and order.

Upon statement of Christian experience, if previously baptized by immersion.


Business meeting are held (unless other wise stated) the last Thursday of the month for the following months of the year: January, April, July, October.


We defined Ministry as what we do for members of our local church and Mission’s as what we do for others outside of our fellowship.

Here at Family Community Church, we hold as a conviction that we should abstain from the use of intoxicating or alcohol drinks as a beverage.

Our personal and corporate conviction on this issue is also contained in our Church Covenant. When a person joins Family Community Church, they are agreeing to abide by our beliefs and enter into covenant with our community of faith.

Our research has revealed that in Biblical times the method of fermentation yelled approximately 2% natural alcohol. However, most table wine today are approximately 12% alcohol respectfully.

If a believer is given to the taste of wine, it is not the church position to oppose so much the use of wine, but the intoxicate or alcohol contained in the drink. There are non- alcoholic wines and beers available that contain less than ½ of 1% alcohol.

The honest question for the user is: Do I really enjoy the taste of wine or do I really want the intoxicate?

This allows for accurate accounting of all your annual contributions and permits us to issue a year end contribution statement for your records and tax preparation. Some members have elected to use their privately assigned envelope number in lieu of completing the entire envelope.

Family Community Church is all about carrying out the mandate of Matt. 28:18-20 and equipping people for service in the Kingdom of God. We believe that this opportunity to serve God’s people is a sacred call that comes with immense responsibility and accountability.

Consequently, we have found it necessary and helpful to highlight and express some of our faith and life-style values, prior to you participating on a ministry team.

We firmly believe that God’s way of supporting His local church is through the Tithes (the first 10% of our net income) and free will Offerings.

The leadership has prayed about this matter for some time and has concluded that since this is God’s facility, all it should be used for is to bring Him glory. Therefore, it is a standard policy not to rent our facility for profit. However, we reserve the right to review special request from time to time that do not violate our overall standard.
